This belief is the foundation of all the principles of our social teaching. As human persons we share this value, have the capacity to respect it in one another equally and unconditionally, and use it to support one another and the people we care for. Social workers strive to ensure access to needed information, services, and resources; equality of opportunity; and meaningful participation in decision making for all people.

We are so used to fighting for the principle of equality amongst humans, as we should, that we automatically transfer this notion to the proposed changed wording including all beings. The American Journal of Jurisprudence, 44, 1—14. These gifts are not simply for our own personal use but are entrusted to us by God for the flourishing of our human family. The spirit component is a non-material form of the person and comes to exist only in union with the body of the person, guiding the organisation and actions of the body.

Life and Dignity of the Human Person

Catholic Social Teaching states that each and every person has value, are worthy of great respect and must be free from slavery, manipulation and exploitation. This is a case of exclusion. Regardless of any factors or reasons we can think of, individuals have an inherent and immeasurable worth and dignity; each human life is considered sacred. This theme is about our radical equality before God that leads us to think no less of somebody because they are from a different place or culture, because they believe something different to you, or because of their work or employment situation. The principle of Human Dignity means that Catholic Social Teaching takes a strong position on issues around the start and end of life like the death penalty and abortion but it also has big consequences for everything in-between. For example it can effect how we think about how our society supports those with disabilities, how we address global inequality and the approach we take to civil rights issues. It is from this idea that all people have inherent dignity that the themes of and develop within Catholic Social Teaching. But Catholic Social Teaching differs slightly because of its basis. But there is also a deeper hunger, the hunger for a happiness that only God can satisfy, the hunger for dignity. There is neither real promotion of the common good nor real human development when there is ignorance of the fundamental pillars that govern a nation, its non-material goods: life, which is a gift of God, a value always to be protected and promoted; the family, the foundation of coexistence and a remedy against social fragmentation; integral education, which cannot be reduced to the mere transmission of information for purposes of generating profit; health, which must seek the integral well-being of the person, including the spiritual dimension, essential for human balance and healthy coexistence; security, in the conviction that violence can be overcome only by changing human hearts. Xavaria, is a force to be reckoned with! She is Matron of one of the largest hospitals in North Western Cameroon. Under her leadership, the team of Franciscan sisters and committed staff have provided quality health care at an affordable cost for.. I was trafficked from Zambia into the UK in early January 2007. I managed to escape from my trafficker around the end of February. I hated myself, the whole world and everyone in it. I thought I had nothing to live for..

In fact, for human persons their spirit is viewed as the wellspring of their intellectual activity; of their thinking, reasoning and knowing. Social workers are continually aware of the profession's mission, values, ethical principles, and ethical standards and practice in a manner sincere with them. Editorial Journal of Clinical Nursing, 26, 2509-2510. Social workers are cognizant of their dual responsibility to clients and to the broader society. Human persons' experience of reality, self-communication, and expression of thoughts, desires, feelings and decisions are made possible through their body. We do so at our own tout. Such lack of recognition is obviously unacceptable. But worldviews, especially when they favor our interests, are hard to change. Each person is his or her own unique center of value.
